Medication

The school will administer medication prescribed by a doctor or other appropriate healthcare professional where this is necessary during the school day. Parents/carers will need to complete a Medication Permission Form, available from the school office before medication can be administered.

All medication must be provided to the school in its original packaging, clearly labelled with the pupil’s name and dosage instructions. Illness

If a pupil becomes unwell during the school day, they will be cared for by a member of staff and their parent/carer will be contacted where necessary. If a pupil is sick or has an episode of diarrhoea, they will need to be collected from school.

In accordance with our Attendance Procedure and Buckinghamshire Council guidance, pupils must remain at home until 48 hours after the last episode of sickness or diarrhoea. This applies even where a child appears to have recovered and is otherwise feeling well.

We appreciate that keeping a child at home for 48 hours can sometimes be inconvenient. However, this requirement helps to reduce the spread of infection and protects the health and wellbeing of pupils, families and staff across our school community. We ask all parents and carers to follow this guidance consistently.
