We have now learnt all the graphemes for this half-term! We will therefore be spending this week revising the ones we know, and focussing on blending skills.

In maths, we are thinking about patterns all week. In PE we will be peas on a plate! We will be practising our ball control skills and passing a ball between us.

Reading groups today. Please don't worry if your child is still reading a wordless book; that is totally appropriate at this stage of the term, and moving onto blending books too soon can make them less confident readers. They will all move onto simple word books when they are blending confidently at school.  

In this week's PSHE lesson, we will be thinking about goals, and how it feels when you have worked hard to achieve something.

Mrs Bird will be teaching today. She is looking forward to reading with all the children, so please put their book folders in their bag to come into school. In the afternoon, there will be another fun-filled Forest School!

Thursday 

We will be doing another word hunt today! The children will find and blend sounds to try and read simple words around the classroom and outdoor space. When they have found and read, or asked another child to help them read, all the words, we will have a fun game of Mr Crocodile on the playground! 

In maths, we will be carrying on our pattern work, and in the afternoon we will be doing some more brave writing.

We will be reviewing all of our sounds and tricky words today, so we can make sure they know them all. They have done really well and learnt 20 graphemes and 3 tricky words!
